Thanks to all involved
The 2009 UAV Challenge was deemed a huge success, with incredible progress seen from the previous year’s event.
During the Challenge, the Kingaroy airport accommodated over 45 civil and UAV aircraft movements. This included UAVs, fire spotting and other fixed wing craft as well as a visiting Royal Australian Navy Augusta Westland A109E. Thanks go to our aerodrome controller and safety officials for managing this very busy airport for the duration of the competition!
An event of this kind cannot happen without the support of many people from many organisations.
Thanks go to:
- Our sponsors – many of which made it out to Kingaroy, your contribution made the event possible.
- South Burnett Council and Kingaroy community – your support makes it a pleasure to hold this event in Kingaroy.
- The competitors – for all your enthusiasm, determination and hard work.
- The Organisers – a combination of people from QUT, ARCAA, CSIRO, Queensland Government, Boeing and many other organisations, thank you for all your hard work in bringing together the best UAV Challenge yet!
The Steering Committee - UAV Challenge - Outback Rescue 2009.
